Rabbi Michael Mayersohn is a Reform rabbi with more than four decades of experience in Jewish education, spiritual leadership, and interfaith engagement. Ordained at Hebrew Union College–Jewish Institute of Religion in 1979, he has served congregations in Massachusetts and Southern California, including Temple Beth David of Orange County, where he became known for innovative outreach and inclusive High Holy Day learning experiences. A passionate teacher, Rabbi Mayersohn has spent many years helping both Jewish and Christian learners explore the Jewish roots of biblical texts. He founded the Alliance for Christian and Jewish Studies and has taught in dozens of churches and community settings across the Southwest. He lives in Orange County with his wife, Caryn, and continues to teach, write, and share Judaism with warmth, clarity, and deep commitment.
Debbie Holland has been a valued member of our team since 2023, and she is often the first friendly face to greet you when you walk through our doors. With warmth, patience, and a steady presence, Debbie helps keep our day-to-day running smoothly and makes sure everyone feels welcomed and supported from the moment they arrive.
Alyssa Freedman-Finch, our Youth Director, has a Masters of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Loma Linda University. She works as a Speech Language Pathologist at a local public school. Alyssa was a teacher at TBO for eight years, and this is her second year as our Youth Education Director. She loves sharing in her students' enthusiasm and Jewish pride as they grow in Religious School and Hebrew Lab.
Rabbi Dr. Mark Goldfarb brings a contagious enthusiasm, sense of humor, and deep passion for teaching Judaism. Over 25 years in the rabbinate, he served congregations in Texas, Michigan, Ohio, and California, creating meaningful worship, innovative programming, and caring support for congregants through every stage of life. He was ordained at Hebrew Union College (1991) and later trained in chaplaincy, serving in hospice, senior care, prisons, and hospitals, most recently at St. Joseph Hospital in Orange. Rabbi Mark was honored by HUC-JIR for 25 years of service (2016) and received a Doctorate of Divinity (h.c.). He retired in 2023.
Rabbi Dr. Lawrence Goldmark is a graduate of UCLA and Hebrew Union College, and earned his MAHL in Cincinnati. He spent a year studying in Jerusalem, served as a chaplain in the U.S. Army, and was a rabbi at Wilshire Boulevard Temple from 1971–1979. A respected community leader, he has served in major clergy and rabbinic leadership roles across Southern California. After 29 years as Temple Beth Ohr’s spiritual leader and religious school principal, Rabbi Goldmark retired in 2008 and is our Rabbi Emeritus.
